Having been involved in IT Support for nearly 2 decades I can tell you that being first to try new software is usually NOT a good thing. Any new software whether it is a small program or a complete operating system like Windows 10 requires hundreds and even thousands of hours of programing to get things to work correctly by the programmers. Even if they do a perfect job of creation of the software once it gets out in the real world and installed on thousands of computers, things can go wrong. Sometimes things can go really wrong and computer hardware malfunctions or data loss can result.
Local Business Owners May Need IT Support To Upgrade
Local business owners may want to look to our small business computer support available at RB’s Computer Service to review your current hardware and software to see if there are any known compatibility issues with Windows 10. We can make a recommendation about upgrading or not upgrading your computers.
Microsoft has stated that Windows 10 will be free to download and install for one year so, why be in a hurry? You might want to wait 2 to 3 months to let the “bugs” be found and fixed especially those that might cause conflicts with your computer brand, hardware that you connect to or other software that you run.
You Might Not Have Access to Windows 10 Upgrade Until Later
Even though the roll-out will start on July 29th your computer may not be one that will have access to Windows 10 right away. Microsoft is saying they expect 1 Billion installs of their new OS so it may take days, weeks or even a couple months before it makes its way to your PC.
If you want to learn more about upgrading to Windows 10 you may want to read some of the current industry articles listed below before you make your decision. If you do upgrade it will be nearly impossible to roll back to your current operating system. It is best to take your time, do your own research before you click that upgrade button.
