Hackers Use Stolen Tools From the National Security Agency

DIY (Do-it-Yourself) antivirus and malware threat protection strategies are limited in protecting your personal computer, business computer or network.  Most DIY’ers use software or a program.  In many cases, an antivirus program can find and get rid of a computer virus or malware.  When it alerts you to take action, you can followMalware & Ransomware Removal Ramsey MN, Malware & Ransomware Detection Ramsey MN, Computer Repair Ramsey MN, Managed IT Services Ramsey MN, IT Consulting Ramsey Minnesota the prompts and instructions of the application to remove it.  However, the sophistication and reach of ransomware and malware computer infections and  lockouts in the last year demonstrate that over the counter or downloadable online antivirus programs are not enough to protect your computer or network from an attack.  According the New York Times, this is in part due to the fact that the current landscape of hacking pros are playing by a different set of rules than the antivirus software developers. They are “making use of dozens of hacking tools that were stolen from the National Security Agency and leaked online in April by a group called the Shadow Brokers (Nicole Perlroth, rk Scott and Sheera Frenkeljune, New York Times, Cyberattack Hits Ukraine Then Spreads, June 27th, 2017, https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/27/technology/ransomware-hackers.html).”  Unfortunately, hackers using these tools has been wide spread across the globe and their reach has been felt locally.  A quick Google search on the topic can confirm this and I reported in my blog post last summer about a local medical related business that got hit by ransomware.  So, what is a proactive consumer or business owner to do?  Partner with RB’s Computer Service to access your needs and develop a comprehensive strategy.
