With the announcement of the new iPhone, people got to see the latest version of the world’s most popular smartphone. While it has quite a few new features like a more powerful microchip under the hood, the most noticeable change is its size. Here’s an excerpt of Ian Sherr and Shara Tibken’s recent article for CNET that focuses on the bigger screen size of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus:
The breakout feature, however, is the screens themselves. The iPhone 6 features a screen measuring 4.7-inches diagonally, Apple said, and the iPhone 6 Plus will have a 5.5-inch screen. Previous generations of the iPhone had a 4-inch screen or smaller.
The size change brings the phone firmly out of the usual smartphone size and turns it into more like a small tablet. Along with the efficient A8 microprocessor that powers it and the longer-lasting batteries, you can expect to have the new iPhone operating much like a smaller iPad with a call function. However, the size has its drawbacks—as bigger is not always better.
For people expecting to have a firm grip on their phone, the larger size can make for a clumsy fit. Apple has formerly refused to imitate Samsung and others in creating large screen versions of their products for this very reason. Now, it seems that the tech giant is changing its tune, in hopes of getting a larger market share.
Other than its screen size, which make it more vulnerable to slipping and then falling to the floor, there could be a hundred and one ways by which an iPhone 6 (or any other smartphone, for that matter) can end up with a broken screen. Considering that Apple still chooses to go with the industry standard “gorilla glass” for their new phone’s screen, professional iPhone or iPod screen repair services are still going to be called for in the long run.
Fortunately, a reliable iPhone screen repair service provider like RB’s Computer Service is always ready and up-to-date when it comes to fixing the latest models of handheld gadgets on the market. Indeed, a cracked or shattered screen doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to replace your smartphone. With the help of repair experts, a simple screen replacement can be done and your gadget can be good as new again.
